A Grid Evaluation can be included in an eloomi Appraisal. It can be used as a matrix to evaluate employees along two axes, placing them into different categories (boxes).
Commonly, it is used to create a 9-Box Grid, a well-known talent management tool which identifies and groups employees based on their performance and potential.
In eloomi, Users can also be assigned to a specific User Flow based on their placement in the Grid.
This article explains how to customize the Grid within your Appraisal process.
First, navigate to Admin > Appraisals > Edit your process. Open the Grid evaluation tab.
General Settings
In General Settings you can edit the number of boxes you want on the Horizontal Axis and the Vertical Axis. The maximum is a Grid of 9 by 9. The most common matrix is 3 by 3, to create a 9-Box Grid.
Next, you can name the Horizontal Axis and the Vertical Axis. Add the name to the respective box Horizontal Axis Title and Vertical Axis Title. The titles will show in the Grid preview.
Rating Scale Description
Below the Grid Preview you can customize the description of the rating scale for both axes. To edit the descriptions click the Edit button in the top right corner.
Add the Title and the Description for each rating scale.
NOTE: The Description supports HTML formatting.
Connecting different User Flows
You can Name and connect a specific User Flow to each box with the Edit button, which will be visible when you hover over each box in the Grid. Based on the users' placement in the Grid evaluation, a specific User Flow will be designated.
In the Advanced settings of your process, toggle on 'Should the user flow be defined only by the grid evaluation?' to 'lock' the User Flow based on the Grid position.
This means the responsible person for the Grid evaluation cannot override your definition of the employees' performance.
