Use case
A user must complete a course at a location where an instructor is undergoing some tests. It could be that the user has to pass a driving test where the instructor is the driving instructor.
To support the driving instructor, show the route, and ask questions along the way - a supervised eloomi course has been set up.
The course is played on the driving instructor's device, but all responses entered are stored on the user. When the route is complete, eloomi tells you whether the user has passed - based on the answers entered along the way.
Setting up a supervised module
Go to Admin > Learning and create an online learning module. Fill in the necessary details as needed. A supervised module has the same options as any online module with the addition of it being Instructor-led.
Using the use case above, keep in mind when creating the content, that you are addressing the instructor as it will be the instructor that will be filling in the module for the user. For this particular scenario, one of your module steps could be a "Test Step" where you can ask questions about the performance of the user during the driving test. The correct answers should, of course, correspond to the right behaviors so a user can be easily marked as completed and can also have a "pass" score recorded.
To make the module supervised, navigate to the Advanced details of the module and toggle on Supervised. Here, you can also assign the instructor. Click on the "Assign" button and search for the instructor's name.
Please note: You can assign more than one instructor in the module. The instructors will have the same overview of the list of users assigned to the module, hence, all of the instructors can administer the module to any user assigned. You cannot choose that an instructor can only see specific users.
If you want to remove an instructor, simply do it from the same instructor table.
How does an Instructor initiate the supervised module?
If you are assigned as an instructor to a module, you will have an extra tab, Instructor Modules, available under Discover.
In the Online instructor modules tab, you can navigate to the module you want to launch by clicking on the forward arrow.
Under the "Instructor view" tab you can see all the users you can supervise - and you can start supervising directly from the overview.
Once you have started a supervised module, simply click through as if it were a module you should take yourself.
Participants that is assigned to a supervise module can view - but not complete the module.
