Modules can be created with an approval process activated. This blocks user access to the module before prior approval from an individual in the Approval process.

Setting up Approval process:

To enable the approval request process you first need to enable the function in the platform by navigating to Admin > Settings > Approval process.

When editing the settings, you need to consider if:

  • only the user's nearest manager should approve the request

or

  • the user's nearest manager and a department budget manager (or any 2nd budget approver) should approve the request

or

  • only the department budget manager (or any 2nd budget approver) should approve the request.

Once happy with the platform settings, you may go ahead and individually enable the approval process through the Advanced details of each relevant module.

An e-mail notification is sent to the relevant approvers when a user requests access to a module. Approval/rejection of pending requests is managed by navigating to Discover > Requests.

Both approvers and platform admins have access to this menu.
